CenturyLink Scholarships for School Term 2011-2012

CenturyLink Scholarship applications for the school term 2011-2012 are now being accepted. CenturyLink, in association with Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point and The Coastal Carolina Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), provide recipients $1,000 scholarships. 

To be eligible for a Century Link scholarship, the applicant must be a dependent of an active duty military member stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point and be accepted by or attending a four year college or university. Dependents of deployed military members permanently assigned to military organizations at MCAS Cherry point may apply. Dependants attending a community college that have been accepted to attend a four year college or university are also eligible to apply. Applicants may attend any accredited four year college or university in or out of the State of North Carolina.

CenturyLink Scholars for School Term 2010-2011

On 22 April 2010, the Chapter Scholarship Committee chaired by Col Mike Kennedy along with CAPT Marie Senzig, Maj Bill Culler, Maj Dan Walczak and Capt Jim Dargan met and selected the following four CenturyLink scholars;

Kayla Baker - UNC– Chapel Hill
Kara Riley - Lancaster Bible College (PA)
*Molly Shea - NC State
*Ashley Valdez - ECU

The Scholars and their parents will be recognized at the Chapter Scholarship Dinner on 20 May at Taberna Country Club. Presenting the Scholarships and recognizing the Scholars will be CenturyLink, MCAS Cherry Point and Chapter Representatives.
